Justice for Larry (CM Punk’s Dog)

The post-All Out backstage brawl is either the most well-booked fight we’ll never see or the most bizarre legit donnybrook of all time.

Reports came out last Friday that AEW is working on a buyout of CM Punk’s contract. Even more reports on Wednesday confirmed The Elite (Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks) were backstage at Dynamite and are returning soon.

But wait, there’s more.

WrestlingInc.com reported on Wednesday that when the door of Punk’s locker room was kicked in, it accidentally hit his dog, Larry, in the mouth. A few days later, at a pre-scheduled vet appointment, an exam revealed two of Larry’s teeth were knocked loose and had to be removed.

Larry’s role in the Labor Day weekend brawl has seemingly evolved every few weeks. At first, Ace Steel’s girlfriend was watching Larry. Then, Kenny Omega moved Larry to get him out of harm’s way, only to get bit by Ace Steel. Now, his teeth were knocked loose.

Chris Jericho’s Ring of Dishonor

A shroud of dishonor enveloped the ROH Championship when Chris Jericho defeated Claudio Castagnoli at Grand Slam to capture the title. Last Wednesday, Jericho kicked off his 8th world title reign with a successful title defense over former ROH Champion Bandido.

It was a fantastic main event that prompted AEW to immediately offer Bandido a full-time contract. However, the show ended with a despicable decree.

Jericho announced the “Ring of Jericho” mission statement. Simply put, he will desecrate the legacy of ROH by beating every former champion, commentator, referee, and ring announcer.

Examing Roman Reigns vs. Logan Paul

Roman Reigns’ next title defense has been set for Crown Jewel on November 5th in Saudi Arabia. WWE confirmed on Saturday at a press conference in Las Vegas that social media sensation Logan Paul will challenge Reigns for the Undisputed Universal Championship.

Several websites reported the match on Friday going into SmackDown, where Paul announced the press conference while teasing he would challenge Reigns.

Roman Reigns defeated Drew McIntyre in his last title defense at Clash at the Castle. Logan Paul was victorious at SummerSlam over The Miz in his second pro wrestling match.

Paul was impressive in his in-ring outings, while Reigns has held both the WWE Title and Universal Title since WrestleMania 38. However, the eyes of the internet wrestling community (IWC) are looking at this mainstream fare with daggers on both sides of the coin.

The backlash is strong with this one.

AEW: Brawls, Bites, and Bodyslams (oh my)

AEW produced a fun pay-per-view outing over Labor Day weekend. New champions were crowned, several great matches occurred, and the show closed out with the return of MJF. But no one is talking about that.

The genuine backstage drama that has been reportedly simmering for months reached a boiling point, culminating in a locker room “melee” that is still grabbing headlines over one week later.

It’s the story that will not die.

In a scene reminiscent of Scarface’s spirited “resignation” in the film Half Baked, CM Punk made disparaging remarks at the post-All Out media scrum about Colt Cabana, Colt Cabana’s mama, ‘Hangman’ Adam Page, Target retail stores, Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, and Reseda, California.

Punk ended his tirade by stating his door is always open if anyone has a problem with him.

From here on end, words like “allegedly” or “reported” heavily apply as this pier six brawl has grown more fantastical by the day, Which is why I waited so long to write about it.

Nick & Matt Jackson (The Young Bucks) and Kenny Omega took Punk up on his offer and kicked the door down. If anyone creates a parody of this fight, please play Bigge Samlls’ Kick in the Door.

WWE Clash at the Castle Results – 9/3/22

WWE held the first premium live event in the UK in 30 years as Clash at the Castle emanated from Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. Drew McIntyre challenging Roman Reigns for the WWE Undisputed Universal Title headlined the event along with a highly anticipated Intercontinental title showdown between Gunther and Sheamus.
