Next week, All Elite Wrestling will embark on one of the most important weeks in its two-year history. Dynamite and Rampage will emanate from Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York.
On Wednesday, Dynamite “Grand Slam” is headlined by World Champion Kenny Omega, taking on Bryan Danielson. Rampage on Friday is 2 hours instead of the usual 1-hour broadcast and is helmed by CM Punk’s first television match in 7-years as he takes on Powerhouse Hobbs.
According to @WrestleTix 18,424 tickets have been distributed for an estimated capacity of 19,428, making Wednesday’s Dynamite card AEW’s largest audience.
Here’s a listing of what’s been announced for both shows.
- Dynamite: Grand Slam
- Rampage Grand Slam
A tag team match featuring the Suzuki-gun duo of Lance Archer and Minou Suzuki colliding with Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston was announced for Queens; however, whether it occurs on Dynamite or Rampage is yet to be determined.
AEW has gained a lot of momentum since the success of their All Out pay-per-view. Dynamite beat Raw in the coveted 18-49 ratings demo last week by 3,000 viewers for the first time. Dynamite beat Raw again this week with an increased number of 6,000 viewers.
Next week, both Grand Slam cards should widen the viewership margin even more in AEW favor, especially considering Kenny Omega vs. Bryan Danielson is the dream match for many diehard fans.
