Liv Morgan vs. Wings of Death on Hot Ones

WWE Superstar Liv Morgan is the latest guest to take on the wings of death. She discusses learning to shut the f— up on day one of WWE training; being a masochist and being proud of her injuries; having real life beef with other wrestlers; crying like a baby after hawks attacked her chickens on her farm; and Cory from Boy Meets World being manipulative and toxic.

On learning to shut the f— up on day one of WWE training (1:34)

“Honestly, day one starting, it was a lot of kind of just like shut up and keep your eyes open, you know? Like we’re not even allowed in the ring for 30 days, back in my day when I started. Like you were not allowed to even step foot in the WWE ring. You had to like sit and watch on the sidelines. So I just remember learning to shut the f— up. Really.”

On being a masochist and being proud of her injuries (3:46)

“I think it’s an asset. I, like, am proud of them because I’m like, this is literally, like, what we’re putting our bodies through for your entertainment. But I also like the physicality of it. I kind of like the violence a little bit. I’m a little bit of like a masochist in that kind of way. So I’m always like yay. But, you know, the hematoma is only the injury I’ve had that I was like, I’m not happy about this.”

On having real life beef with other wrestlers (8:55)

“I’ve seen scenarios where there is a lack of respect and it translates in the ring in weird ways. Where you can tell that they do not like each other. They are not working together. Or their promo segments where they are saying things that are not on script. That are not in like kayfabe, you know, and it doesn’t end well. You know, ultimately things get patched up, but I like to think that if someone doesn’t like me, they know I’m gonna give them an amazing match regardless at the end of the day, and so they’re not worried about whatever issues that we’re having.”

Reaction to Da Bomb hot sauce (13:12)

On crying like a baby after hawks attacked her chickens on her farm (15:01)

“Last night I went to go work out, I’ll show you videos, and I open my gym and there’s two like just born baby squirrels. It’s like 11 PM at night. Like what am I supposed to do with these baby squirrels? I can’t do anything and I’m leaving right in the morning to go do Hot Ones with Sean Evans. Like what the f— am I supposed to do with these baby squirrels? And so I had to have my mom call the wildlife today to like go and pick up these baby squirrels. Or like the first hawk attack. Like I have chickens and I like to let them roam and free range. And that first hawk attack, it kills you. Like sauce eight. Like there’s nothing like that first death on the farm is like, you mourn it. And you’ll never mourn anything like that hard again. I cried like a baby. Like a baby. Like I take no medication or anything, but like I needed a Xanax that day. Like I was crying. I was out of sorts. I was crying.”

On Cory from Boy Meets World being manipulative and toxic (17:30)

“It’s just like a show for the times. Boy Meets World. But, you know, I do watch it back and I have a complete different perspective of it than I did watching it. Like I remember. I thought Cory was like so romantic, such a good guy. Great guy for Topanga. Like when she chose not to go to Yale and choose Cory, I was like yeah, like love. But now when I watch it back, as like a grown woman, I’m like this man is manipulative. He’s toxic. He’s gaslighting the shit out of her. Bitch, you’re not gonna go to Yale for Cory? And so I feel like my perspective of it has changed. But I think it was just one of those shows, like Saved by the Bell. Just like nostalgic, group of friends, coming of age.”
