Several matches were added to the WrestleMania card on SmackDown this past Friday night, including the long rumored addition to the Triple Threat Match for the WWE Universal Championship.
WWE Universal Championship: Daniel Bryan forced Roman Roman Reigns to tap out right before Edge drilled Bryan with a steel chair, costing him the title. Bryan argued his case on SmackDown, stating he should get a title match at WrestleMania. Reigns and Edge vehemently disagreed, but WWE management added Bryan to the match, making it a Triple Threat Match.
WWE Intercontinental Championship: Apollo Crews has been trying to wrestle the IC title away from Big E for months. He even blindsided Big E and turning heel in the process. Big E pinned Crews at Fastlane, but Crews beat Big E on SmackDown in a Six-Man-Tag Match, granting him fifth and perhaps last opportunity at the gold.
Seth Rollins claims he’s the one who can finally bring Cesaro to prominence. Cesaro is having none of it, and Rollins has attacked him at every turn. Cesaro got a measure of revenge on SmackDown, which made their showdown official for WrestleMania.
Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are good friends but better enemies. They will wrestle each other once again in their most high-profile match. Zayne believes there’s a conspiracy against him and is angry that Owens can’t or won’t see it. Zayn plans on making his former friend see the truth at WrestleMania. YouTube star and celebrity boxer Logan Paul is expected to play a part in the match.

SmackDown Tag Team Championship and a Women’s Tag Team Championship match are expected on the card. Sheamus takes on U.S. Champion Matt Riddle in a non-title match tonight on Raw. All signs point to Sheamus winning to get his title shot at WrestleMania. While I expect some of these matches to swap nights at some point, WWE has put together a strong card on paper, considering the state of their roster.
WrestleMania 37 streams live on April 10 and April 11, beginning at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT exclusively on Peacock in the United States and WWE Network everywhere else.
