We have a new World Heavyweight Champion on Monday Night Raw, and his name is Seth “Freakin” Rollins.
To the surprise of many, WWE kicked off Night of Champions with the title bout between Rollins and Styles. It felt like the wrong move before the bell but proved to be the correct move after the bell.
The match started hot and never let up. Styles and Rollins wrestled a 50/50 match where neither man held the lead for an extended period of time. Just as Rollins appeared to be on the verge of sustained offense, Styles would flip the script.
“Are you serious?” I blurted out loud when Jeff Jarrett was announced as the special guest referee for Usos/Street Profits Tag Team Title match at SummerSlam on July 30th.
“What’s wrong?” my wife asked with heartfelt concern. She rolled her eyes and quickly returned to her book after telling her, “It’s a wrestling thing.”
WWE has dipped into the guest referee well for the 9th time in SummerSlam history. Usos and Profits have great matches against each other. However, some complained about another outing between the two teams after the shoulder controversy at Money in the Bank.
Shinsuke Nakamura & Rick Boogs earned a SmackDown Tag Team Title match set for night one of WrestleMania 38. Boogs defeated “Main Event” Jey Uso on SmackDown Friday night after tricking him into thinking his leg was injured. Per the stipulation, Boogs and Nakamura get a title shot at the “Showcase of the Immortals.”
WWE reached out to me today via my inbox and wanted to know who are my favorite WWE Superstars, NXT Superstars, and WWE Legends. I’m flattered that the E values my opinion. So, I moved my cursor towards the lovely “click here” button and gave them my two cents. Continue reading “WWE Asked for My Opinion”→
WWE is using “The Club” for the new faction comprised of AJ Styles, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson. The name is a reference the trio’s time in as the Bullet Club, which is still a popular IP being used in New Japan Pro Wrestling and ROH.
OnBreaking Raw, Adam Kohn and I discuss whether or not “The Club” is a fitting name, the first step in a larger design, or just plain lazy. If you like what you hear please visit the official You Tube channel of Gerweck.net for more great pro wrestling content.
