IMPACT Wrestling Results – 3/24/21: Philadelphia Street Fight

The show opens with Josh Alexander making a b-line for the Impact Zone. Alexander is furious over Moose going to his home last week. Alexander said he thought he knew everything Moose is capable of and said Moose crossed a line that you don’t cross with his family.

Alexander said as a wrestler, he’s more motivated than ever, but as a husband, he’s going to issue pain like never before and take the one thing in the world Moose cares about, the world championship. Alexander called out Moose.

Moose says Alexander will fail at Rebellion, and he will show his son Chet what an actual role model looks like. That’s all Alexander needed to hear as he jumped out of the ring and attacked Moose. The brawl goes backstage and up to the old eagle’s nest in the ECW Arena. Many wrestlers break it up before both men fall over the balcony, and Moose retreats.

Daniels vs. Rhodes Headlines ROH ‘Best in the World’ on 6/23

It’s official folks, Christopher Daniels will defend the ROH World Championship against Cody Rhodes in the main event of Ring of Honor’s next pay-per-view event, Best in the World on 6/23 at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium in Lowell, MA.

This match stems from a previous encounter at last month’s War of the Worlds event where Daniels beat Cody in a triple threat match involving former champion Jay Lethal. Cody, however, argued that Lethal’s shoulders were on the mat while he had the figure four applied seconds before Daniels got the pin, making him the rightful champion.

New Japan Pro Wrestling held the opening rounds of the 23rd annual Best of the Super Juniors Tournament over the weekend. This year, sixteen wrestlers were split into two separate round robin tournament blocks (A & B), where a wrestler scores two points for winning, one point for a draw, and zero points for losing.

The two wrestlers with the most points in their respective blocks will face each other in the finals on June 7th where the winner, sans KUSHIDA who is the current champ, will receive an IWGP Jr Heavyweight title match.

I super excited for this year’s tournament because it’s the first time I can watch the matches live on New Japan Pro Wrestling’s streaming service www.newjapanworld.com. In the past, I would have to either wait about after the tournament to watch it on DVD or stumble upon on upload on Youtube.  Continue reading “New Japan’s Best of the Super Juniors Night 1 & 2 Report”

  • Is ROH relying too much on New Japan Pro Wrestling?
  • The Bullet Club’s current happenings with Adam Cole joining their ranks.

You can check out The Raw Deal, Breaking Raw and more on the official You Tube Channel of Gerweck.net: Pro Wrestling Since 1997.

The Club: Good or Bad name for WWE’s New Faction?

WWE is using “The Club” for the new faction comprised of AJ Styles, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson. The name is a reference the trio’s time in as the Bullet Club, which is still a popular IP being used in New Japan Pro Wrestling and ROH.

On Breaking Raw, Adam Kohn and I discuss whether or not “The Club” is a fitting name, the first step in a larger design, or just plain lazy. If you like what you hear please visit the official You Tube channel of Gerweck.net for more great pro wrestling content.

The Invasion of Michael Bennett

Bennett

This past Saturday, at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Invasion Attack, Michael Bennett and Matt Taven defeated Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows to become the IWGP Tag Team Champions. This is the most high-profile moment in both of their careers, particularly for Bennett, whose success has bred some criticism.

For those who aren’t familiar with Michael Bennett, he is a wrestler from the Massachusetts area best known for his work in Ring of Honor. Bennett has also become a well-traveled performer who often finds himself in wrestling rings all around the world. Continue reading “The Invasion of Michael Bennett”
