Lowell, MA, added another historical event to its pro wrestling resume with the first full-on presentation of Tony Khan’s Ring of Honor with Death Before Dishonor. Many wondered what match would close out the show.

IMPACT Wrestling – 3/31/22: South Philadelphia, PA @ ECW Arena
-The video of Moose spearing Josh Alexander’s wife at Destiney Wrestling over the weekend opens the show. Impact President Scott D’Amore meets Alexander and informs him that Moose is not in the building. D’Amore says the committee is meeting to discuss stripping Moose of the Impact World Championship.
D’Amore says he knows how Alexander feels because he’s known his wife longer than him. Alexander pushes D’Amore against the wall and says he has no idea how he feels and objects to Impact stripping Moose of the title because he needs to be the one to beat him for it.

On Saturday, it was an end of an era as Ring of Honor celebrated everything that made the promotion special. Final Battle, a name inspired by New Japan Pro Wrestling’s catalog of defunct events, is usually their big pay-per-view show to close out the year.
This year’s incarnation was bitter-sweet, considering ROH’s scheduled hiatus could be a permanent vacation. It was a fun show with some great moments, video messages from past ROH stars, and two standout matches.

Ring of Honor Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling will G1 Supercard Festival of Honor on Friday, April 5th, 2019 at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The fan festival will occur the day before the sold out G1 Supercard of Honor wrestling event at MSG the following night.
The Festival of Honor will begin at 10:00 AM EST and ends at 6:00 PM. Tickets go on sale for HonorClub members on Wednesday, February 13th, 2019 and for the General Public on Friday, February 15th, 2019.
Admission for the G1 Supercard Festival of Honor is just $39 when you purchase before March 20th. which includes access to all festival entertainment, the official G1 Supercard press conference, and a special gift bag with a FREE G1 Supercard hat and lanyard ($30 value).
After March 20th, tickets will be $44 and on April 5th, they will be $49. Tickets will be sold separately for the special meet and greet/autograph sessions throughout the day.
There will be exclusive meet and greet autograph sessions with ROH and New Japan stars, live Q&A sessions, official press conference, live entertainment, interactivities and more.
It was smart for ROH and NJPW to do some sort of fan fest in conjunction with the show they are putting on at MSG. The entire wrestling industry will be in town for WrestleMania weekend. WWE has scheduled their fan Axxcess event and WrestleCon will have over 200 wrestlers and five live shows at their convention.
While no card has been announced for the MSG show on 4/6, New Japan’s big three, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Kazuchika Okada, and Tetsuya Naito were announced right before tickets went on sale in August. I would like to meet Okada, again. Last time we crossed paths, it was before he became the Rainmaker. It’s kind of a funny story that I’ll share soon.
I have to meet Hiroshi Tanahashi. Call me a mark, I don’t care. He’s truly one of the all-time greats the industry has ever produced. This might be the only chance to snag a picture with him. I’m truly in awe of his work whenever he steps inside the ring.
My wife and I are going to the MSG show. As much as I want to run around the big apple and partake in all of the wrestling related activities, it’s only fair I carve out a sliver of time for my better half.
The Lowell Memorial Auditorium hosted yet another historic night of professional wrestling as Cody Rhodes dethroned Christopher Daniels to become the ROH World Champion on Friday night. ROH’s ‘Best in the World’ was a fun pay-per-view event that your boy got to experience first-hand.
Excited fans in long lines and I mean loooong lines, encapsulated the enthusiasm people had for the show. Standing in said lines didn’t do any favors for my knee, but it was worth it thanks to Christopher Daniels.

It’s official folks, Christopher Daniels will defend the ROH World Championship against Cody Rhodes in the main event of Ring of Honor’s next pay-per-view event, Best in the World on 6/23 at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium in Lowell, MA.
This match stems from a previous encounter at last month’s War of the Worlds event where Daniels beat Cody in a triple threat match involving former champion Jay Lethal. Cody, however, argued that Lethal’s shoulders were on the mat while he had the figure four applied seconds before Daniels got the pin, making him the rightful champion.

Yes, I know I’m late to the party once again, however, this is a topic that I didn’t want to ignore.
Christopher Daniels beat Adam Cole to win the World Title at ROH’s 15th Anniversary Show. Daniels was 0-8-1 in ROH Championship matches. At 46 years old he was facing a 27-year-old blue chip athlete in Cole who was in the midst of his third title reign.
Near falls, superkicks, blood, mid-match promos, the ultimate swerve on the Bullet Club and three BME (Best Moonsaults Ever) encapsulates what as a great moment that was long overdue and better late than never.
Christopher Daniels was one of the best wrestlers to never hold a version of the world title. That sounds weird considering the “Fallen Angel” has been one of the most sought after talents on the independent scene and abroad for the majority of his career. The Lowell Memorial Auditorium was once again treated to an action-packed night of squared circle mayhem as Ring of Honor brought their All-Star Extravaganza pay-per-view event to the Mill City. The best way to describe the ROH product for the uninitiated is to call it pro wrestling with a side of sports entertainment.
WWE’s presentation favors the reverse ideology, but there is a die-hard fan base that ROH caters to that’s not into all the pomp, circumstance, and melodrama. The storylines are simple enough to follow, but it’s the matches that keep the ROH faithful coming back for more.
My fellow wrestling promoting partner in crime, Ryan and I attended the show with piqued interest since neither us of go to Ring of Honor shows that often. In fact, this was only my third ROH live experience and my first in twelve years. I recently interviewed Brutal Bob Evans at What Culture.com where he shares his thoughts on topics such as Destination America, the success of Micheal Bennett, putting Cheeseburger through a table, and his initial criticism of the company. Here some highlights:
On Being an ROH Critic: The line I use is that I used to hate this company, now it’s the only place I want to be. I think it was the change in philosophy on both our parts. In other words, I think we needed to be a little more open-minded, and I wasn’t open-minded.
Will Briscoe vs. Lethal Deliver: I’ve actually pulled both guys aside and told them there are people who don’t think you’re going to have the match that Ring Of Honor is promising. I think both guys are looking at it as a challenge to really step up their game and compete at that kind of level where they’re going to have that type of match.

This past Saturday, at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Invasion Attack, Michael Bennett and Matt Taven defeated Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows to become the IWGP Tag Team Champions. This is the most high-profile moment in both of their careers, particularly for Bennett, whose success has bred some criticism.
For those who aren’t familiar with Michael Bennett, he is a wrestler from the Massachusetts area best known for his work in Ring of Honor.
