WWE announced last week that Bill Goldberg will headline the 2018 class of the WWE Hall of Fame. Goldberg’s popularity is undeniable, however, his body of work and lack of longevity calls into question the legitimacy of his pending induction.
Former WWE writer Kevin Eck wrote an article explaining why he believes Goldberg doesn’t deserve to be in the Hall of Fame and has a valid argument. Still, the intangibles of Goldberg’s career represent more than a quantified metric of success.

Frank Dee and Atlee Greene shoot the breeze with WWE Hall of Fame inductee Teddy Long about his career from Jim Crockett Promotions, WCW, and the WWE. Teddy has accomplished a lot in the wrestling business from being a referee to managing some of the biggest names in the industry.
Teddy Long is best known for his time in WWE where he went on to be the longest reigning SmackDown General Manager. This Friday, Teddy Long will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. The ceremony will air live on the WWE Network.

In what some would call a surprising development, it was announced last Monday that Kurt Angle will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on 3/31 over WrestleMania 33 weekend. Angle will headline the 2017 class with rumored names such as Diamond Dallas Page and Ravishing Rick Rude.
Angle made his WWE debut at Survivor Series 1999 and went on to be the first and only person to win every championship inside of one year. Angle is one of the best wrestlers of all-time and may be the best worker that WWE has ever produced as he was trained in their developmental system. For the second time in four decades, the baseball writers of America failed to elect any of this year’s nominees for the Hall of Fame. Steroid tainted stars such as Roger Clemens and Barry Bonds are the main cause of this shut out. This development makes a definitive statement as to what baseball fans expect from its elite. This makes me wonder if wrestlers should be held to a similar standard in order to gain entrance into the WWE Hall of Fame? Some food for thought.

– John Cena is getting closer and closer to embracing the hate as he and Kane will wrestle in a “Last Man Standing Match” at the Elimination Chamber Pay-Per-View on 2/19. The male audience has been disillusioned with Cena for years. This story line has made him more aggressive which is essential in order to engage fans going into his feud with The Rock at Wrestlemania. The WWE has done a fantastic job with getting people to start caring about Cena vs. Rock instead of just caring about a Rock match at Mania.
