After all this time, it’s finally official. Macho Man Randy Savage will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame the night before WrestleMania 31. Regardless of what anyone thinks of the HOF’s legitimacy, Savage’s induction is long past due.

To me, Randy Savage will always represent the moment professional wrestling became a lifelong passion of mine. While channel surfing on a hot summer night in 1988, I stumbled upon a Mega Powers promo and was immediately drawn in as they vowed to bankrupt the Mega Bucks at Summer Slam 88.

The Force Awakens My Excitement

The official title of the new Star Wars movie that is set to hit theaters on December 18, 2015 is The Force Awakens. I like the title, but without context, I can’t say that I love it, yet. It does feel right when saying it along with the names of the other titles such as A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi.

I did notice that “Episode VII” is absent from the title image. TheForce.net has confirmed with Lucasfilm that it will be not appear in the title or promotional material for the film, but it will be in the opening crawl. Continue reading “The Force Awakens My Excitement” →

The Death of Wolverine: Deadpool and Captain America #1 Review

In the wake of Wolverine’s passing, Captain America and Deadpool take on the task of eliminating their compatriot’s DNA so no razor-clawed clones can be created.

Deadpool writer Gerry Duggan was the perfect choice to helm this story. His team-up issues are pure fun, not only because of his expertise with the loud mouth mutant, but also because of his understanding of other characters and how they interact with such an…interesting personality. Gone Girl Review

I didn’t know what to expect from David Fincher’s latest film, Gone Girl. Fincher is one of those directors whose projects gets an instant buzz because his name is attached to it. With Ben Affleck’s role as Batman on the horizon, anything he does will also garner a lot of attention. The book written by Gillian Flynn is immensely popular and was my wife’s bedside companion. This past Saturday night, I put my wrestling promoter’s hat on, again, for our second annual pro wrestling charity event, ElkMania 2. Last year’s show was a huge success as we raised $1400. 00 for the Elks National Foundation which funds youth programs, college scholarships, and veteran services. My colleagues and I put together a fantastic show with the goal of exceeding its predecessor in every way and we had a former WWE Superstar to help us out. Superman Unchained #8 Review

Scott Snyder has done a fantastic job of giving Superman some opposition in Wraith that has taken him to his physical and mental limits.

Their give and take with one another over the course of events in Unchained has shown Wraith big brothering Superman, to a degree. Guardians of the Galaxy Is Out of This World

I know I’m late to the party with this review, but my brain exploded after witnessing a space opera for the ages and it took me a few weeks to piece it all back together. I’m going to tell you the same thing about Guardians of the Galaxy that I said about The Avengers. There is no amount of telling you how awesome this movie is that will prepare you for how awesome this movie really is. It entertains on every level and brings new meaning to the term “Marvel Cinematic Universe.”

John Cena got the crap kicked out of him on Sunday night. That is the only way to describe the Summer Slam main event between him and Brock Lesnar.
