My Interview w/ Ring of Honor’s Roderick Strong

ROI

I had the pleasure of chatting with “The Messiah of the Backbreaker” Roderick Strong discussing ROH’s big move towards live traditional live pay-per-view, his career in Ring of Honor, his submission match with Cedric Alexander, The Decade, and seeing how far Ring of Honor has come from his perspective of being in the company for over 10 years.

Bjorn Rebney out at Bellator MMA……Good Riddance!

Bjorn-Rebney

Viacom, the parent company of Bellator MMA, has announced that Bjorn Rebney, the founder and CEO of the promotion is leaving the organization effective immediately.  The ink hadn’t even dried on the pink slip before former Strikeforce owner Scott Coker was announced as his replacement. I’m not ready to christen Coker as the messiah of Bellator, but the piss he took this morning is a better decision than most of the ones Bjorn Rebney made at the helm. Do You Know About The ROH Pay-Per-View This Weekend?

roh-new-logo-crop-small

Ring of Honor will present their first live traditional pay-per-view event this Sunday night, but you probably forgot or perhaps you didn’t yet know about it. The promotion of this show hasn’t been bad, it’s virtually non-existent. I was in the boat of people who forgot this show was taking place until I was reminded via an interview with ROH commentator Kevin Kelly. The lack of promotion and makes me wonder if they even want us to watch this event. I can’t miss an update about their iPPV’s if I tried, but it’s a ghost town of information when it comes to Best in The World’ 14. Is The Yes Movement Dead?

Daniel-Bryan2

To say that Daniel Bryan had crap luck as WWE Champion would be an understatement. 64 days of personal loss, dismal follow up from the writers and a neck injury culminated on Raw when Triple H and Stephanie McMahon stripped him of the title. Bryan will be back at some point, but will he get a second chance to make a first impression in the main event spot? Continue reading “Is The Yes Movement Dead?”

Believe in Seth Rollins

Seth-Rollins1-620x350

Seth Rollins was the catalyst for the heel turn heard round the world on Monday night. The Shield’s domination of Evolution at WWE Payback was their Mount Everest. As a trio, there was nowhere else to go but down. Divorce was inevitable, and Rollins served the papers via a steel chair to the back. The hounds of justice are presumably no more and the end result begs the question; was Seth Rollins the right guy to break up the band. Yes, he was.

Wrestling’s Mount Rushmore

wrestlemore

Mount Rushmore is a national memorial in South Dakota featuring the four most iconic U.S. presidents. So, who should be on wrestling’s version of this historic landmark? There are only four spots that make almost any exclusion controversial. Personal preference, athletic skill, unforgettable moments, and overall impact on the industry are reasonable criteria for such a subjective topic.

Godzilla Review

Godzilla_(2014)_poster

Warning: There will be spoilers!

Warner Bros. was given 93.2 million reasons to immediately announce the development of a sequel for Godzilla as he made a roaring return to the silver screen. There were some amazing things to behold, and there were some lackluster elements that almost dragged the film past the point of no return. However, the King of Monsters would not be denied. Batista is the Victim

bigdsave

Vince McMahon is used to getting his way but apparently, Batista didn’t get the memo. Reports have surfaced regarding “The Animal’s” refusal to wrestle Daniel Bryan at WWE’s upcoming Payback pay-per-view. Wrestlers refusing to put people over is nothing new, however, Batista deserves a pass on any flack he is receiving for refusing the match. Luckily, his support of Bryan and the refusal of the idea as opposed to the wrestler himself seems to be his saving grace. Continue reading “Batista is the Victim”

Emily and The Strangers HC Review

Emily and the Strangers HC| Writers: Rob Reger, Mariah Huehner | Artist: Emily Ivie | Cover: Emily Ivie, Buzz Parker | Publisher: Dark Horse Comics | Price: $12.99 | Release Date: May 7, 2014, | From my column at Forces of Geek.com

We all either knew someone, or perhaps we were that person who would damn any band with faint praise for being on MTV simply because they were on MTV. Some did it to keep up with the elite few’s status quo that were actually in the know when it comes to music. Others did it simply to stand out and be different, even though it was a false sentiment.
