If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, AEW Dynamite opened with admiration for an all-time great on Wednesday. CM Punk defeated FTR’s Dax Harwood in a match of the year candidate; however, the story lies with the appreciation shown for a certain “Excellence of Execution.”

Next week, All Elite Wrestling will embark on one of the most important weeks in its two-year history. Dynamite and Rampage will emanate from Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York.
On Wednesday, Dynamite “Grand Slam” is headlined by World Champion Kenny Omega, taking on Bryan Danielson. Rampage on Friday is 2 hours instead of the usual 1-hour broadcast and is helmed by CM Punk’s first television match in 7-years as he takes on Powerhouse Hobbs.

All Elite Wrestling is on the precipice of its first game-changing moment in its short but noteworthy history. In a similar vein to when WCW signed Hulk Hogan in 1994, AEW has presumably signed CM Punk.
Capitalizing on the fervent speculation, Tony Schiavone announced Rampage on August 20 will emanate from Punk’s hometown of Chicago, Illinois, at the United Center. The sophomore episode is auspiciously dubbed “The First Dance.”

Impact Wrestling has undergone a litany of changes behind the scenes over the last twelve months. Lawsuits, wrestlers and staff members are not getting paid, a dwindling audience and a severe lack of leadership finally took its toll. Just when it looked like TNA’s nine lives were about to expire, the Toronto-based Anthem Sports & Entertainment group came out of nowhere and purchased the company.
Dixie Carter, John Gaburick and the rest of the management team were evicted, and in a weird twist of fate, company co-founder Jeff Jarrett was hired to run the day-to-day operations along with Dutch Mantell and Bruce Pritchard. The new administration’s appointment prompted the resignation of several wrestlers and the signing of new talent, all to usher in the new era of Impact Wrestling that was utter garbage. Thoughts On CM Punk Signing With UFC

This past Saturday at UFC 181 in Las Vegas, it was announced that former WWE Superstar CM Punk has signed to fight in UFC and will make his Octagon debut sometime in 2015.
Punk was interviewed at cage side by Joe Rogan and said he is done with professional wrestling and that MMA is his full-time career now because it’s now or never for him.
Punk said that the weight class he will fight at is up in the air, but he is looking at middleweight (185 lbs), but welterweight (170 lbs) is a possibility. He also said that he will not fight at light heavyweight (205 lbs)
When asked who he was going to train with, Punk said he didn’t want to tip his hat just yet and that he is making inquires with a few camps. Continue reading “Thoughts On CM Punk Signing With UFC”
Ten Greatest WWE Champions of All Time
The WWE Championship is the holy grail of professional wrestling. It’s the belt that every aspiring and current wrestler dreams of holding. Having this honor bestowed upon you means you are the best that this business has to offer.
Today, I will rank the top ten WWE Champions of all time.
To say this list was hard to compile would be a colossal understatement—42 wrestlers over 50 years made for several list changes. The thing to remember is that all lists of this type are subjective. You do the best you can with criteria that make sense to you.
For example, Money is extremely important, but being a big draw doesn’t define a wrestler. Iron Man 3 made over four hundred million at the box office, but it’s not winning Best Picture at the Oscars.
Without further ado, let’s get started.
