Camp WWE is the newest original program from the WWE Network. This animated series breaks from the norms of the current PG environment with a TV-MA rating that is chock-full vulgarity and laced with all sorts of crude overtones. Think South Park or Robot Chicken as your inner wrestling fan indulges in the obscene with most of your favorite WWE superstars as children. Continue reading “Camp WWE Review”

Samoa Joe’s Shocking NXT Title Change in Lowell, MA

I’m six days removed from the NXT live event that took place in Lowell, MA. Words such as amazing, spectacular, and shocking don’t even begin to describe the experience. The night was capped off by the surprise title change where Samoa Joe pinned Finn Balor to win the NXT Championship, which is a rare occurrence for a non-televised event.

Is Shane McMahon as RAW GM a WWE Ratings Experiment?
Despite Shane McMahon losing to the Undertaker at WrestleMania 32, Shane was running Monday Night Raw for the last three weeks. While it’s something the fans want to see, will it last, or is this just a ratings experiment?
Adam Kohn and I talk about this in detail on our Raw after show, Breaking Raw. If you enjoy this YouTube clip, check out the show in its entirety at Gerweck.net: Pro Wrestling Since 1997
WWE Suspends Adam Rose and Konnor
WWE announced this morning that Adam Rose and Konnor of the Ascension have both been suspended for 60 days for a second Wellness policy violation. There is more to this story than meets the eye as this announcement exposes some of the holes in WWE’s wellness policy.
Check out the video from the official You Tube channel of Gerweck.net where I break it all down.
Is Randy Savage vs. Ricky Steamboat Overrated?
On March 29, 1987 at WrestleMania III there were 78,000 fans who were enthralled with every slam, punch and suplex thrown in a match that involved two of the best wrestlers on the planet. When the final bell rang at14:35 in the contest, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat was crowned as the new WWF Intercontinental Champion by defeating Macho Man Randy Savage. This is arguably the greatest wrestling match of all-time, however, its reputation has been tarnished over the years due to how the match was prepared and laid out. The 15th Anniversary of The Death of WCW – 3/26/01
This month marks the 15th anniversary of WWF buying WCW in a move that changed the landscape of professional wrestling. In 2001 it seemed like the best thing in the world. Today, that might not be case anymore.
Frank Dee and I talk about the pros, cons, rumors of the sale along with our favorite memories of World Championship Wrestling. Click here to check out The Raw Deal in its entirety at Gerweck.net.
Is Vince McMahon Speaking Through Ryback in “Size Matters” Promos?
Ryback recently turned heel and all roads lead to him challenging Kalisto for the U.S. title at WrestleMania. Some of the recent promos suggest that Vince McMahon is using Ryback to voice his personal dissatisfaction of smaller wrestlers.
You can listen to Breaking Raw in its entirety at gerweck.net. I want to give a special thanks to Cassidy Ash for stepping in to fill the co-host’s chair.
The Plague of Unauthorized Wrestling Albums
I come from a musically-inclined family; however, the maker left me out of that equation, which I’ve come to terms with. Besides, being an enthusiast of this artistic medium is more my speed anyway.
There are days where I enjoy nothing more than throw on the headphones and lose myself to the sweet melodies of some good music. The one thing that can send all of that to a screeching halt is to expect something amazing, only to get something awful in return. Continue reading “The Plague of Unauthorized Wrestling Albums”
WrestleMania 32 = WWE’s Largest Crowd Ever Already?
WrestleMania 23 on April 1, 2007, at Ford Field in Detroit, the real attendance was 74,687, however, the announced number was 80,103. While that is an increase of over 5,000 attendees, WWE always inflates the number, promote it as the real deal, and refer to it as an “entertainment” number when called on the numbers legitimacy.
The Wrestling Observer reported that over 84,000 tickets have been sold for WrestleMania 32 on April 3rd, at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, TX. Frank Dee and I compare this number with some of the real and fake WWE attendance numbers of years past.
