WWE brought out the big guns this week in order to prevent what could have been a historically bad rating for Monday Night Raw. While the ratings did improve from last week’s record low number of 3.27 million viewers, it was only a slight increase to 3.35 million viewers. Even with the combined competition they faced, WWE can’t be happy with an increase of only 80,000 viewers considering the big names they had on the show. Seth Rollins is a Poor Man’s Randy Orton

I’m going to get some static for this one, but it is my opinion that the WWE world heavyweight championship reign of Seth Rollins, so far, has been flat, dull, and a repetitive loop of the same old song and dance we’ve already seen. Continue reading “Seth Rollins is a Poor Man’s Randy Orton”
Believe In Seth Rollins: Part 2

Once upon a time, when The Shield was running roughshod over WWE, their destiny in a post-faction world was already determined. The consensus was that Roman Reigns would be catapulted to the mountain top with the seemingly more deserving Dean Ambrose right behind him.
Then you have Seth Rollins who can do it all in the ring and will have a lot of great matches while making a lot of money in the process. However, his alleged lack of charisma would keep him from reaching the top like his fellow Shield brethren. Continue reading “Believe In Seth Rollins: Part 2”
Did Ambrose vs. Rollins Deliver?

My friends and I get together to watch the big four WWE pay-per-view events and tend not to care about the other eight events, otherwise known as the B-Shows. With the WWE Network, I watch these shows even though I didn’t before. On Sunday, afternoon, I received a phone call from my friend Ryan telling me he was having a get together at his house for Hell in a Cell, again, which is a B-Show.
There was only one reason why we were getting together for a show that we would normally ignore. Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollin, in the main event, inside the Cell. This was the first feud that I had been legitimately excited for in a while. I mean, how could this match go wrong? Well, some feel the match delivered tenfold while others believe it left a lot to be desired.
I wrote an article breaking down the match for the Camel Clutch Blog titled “Gimmicks in a Cell”
Raw is Rock But Not Solid: Thoughts on the WWE Product

WWE served up another episode of Monday Night Raw that spun its wheels before it was saved with a surprise appearance by The Rock. While the great one’s appearance is just what the doctor ordered, it also highlighted some of the glaring holes in the company’s current creative direction and talent roster. Believe in Seth Rollins
Seth Rollins was the catalyst for the heel turn heard round the world on Monday night. The Shield’s domination of Evolution at WWE Payback was their Mount Everest. As a trio, there was nowhere else to go but down. Divorce was inevitable, and Rollins served the papers via a steel chair to the back. The hounds of justice are presumably no more and the end result begs the question; was Seth Rollins the right guy to break up the band. Yes, he was.

This writing thing has been a passion of mine for a long as I can remember. It didn’t dawn on me until a couple of years ago that I should start my on blog and try to get my name there through different outlets.
I was flatter and humbled when Get Real Wrestling.com invited me to be a part of their team and get paid to write. It’s the first time someone has asked me to write for them instead of the other way around so that must mean I’m doing something right.

Dean Ambrose is the Future of the Business
From my column at Gerweck.net
I’m putting myself out there on this one. As they say on the street, you either go big or you go home.
There comes a time in any genre where a particular talent stands out from the rest of the pack. It could be for several reasons or simply because of one mitigating factor. Personal opinion comes into play as the exploits of this individual speaks to you, even if they don’t to anyone else. This person also reinvigorates your excitement for the genre to the point where you’ve become a fan again for the first time. I’m talking about professional wrestling, and the wrestler I’m referring to is Dean Ambrose, and I believe he will be the future of the business.
