The NeXT Level (2 of 4) – NXT 11/2/16 Review

The eight remaining teams in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic battled it out to see who would advance to the Semifinal Round. Who won, who forfeited and who couldn’t compete due to injury. Adam Kohn and I break it all down on the second installment of The NeXT Level.

It’s Time For The NeXT Level (1 of 4)

My co-host on the SmackDown BreakDown, Adam Kohn is obsessed with WWE’s developmental touring band, NXT. So, we decided to try a four week pilot leading into Takeover Toronto, where we review the 10/26/16 episode of NXT along with a look at the first round of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.

The Odds of AJ Styles vs. Shawn Michaels Actually Happening

It’s only fair to start this post by stating that this match is probably not going to happen….but what if?

An image made its voyage around the internet last week hyping a fantasy match up at next year’s Royal Rumble pitting WWE World Champion AJ Styles against Shawn Michaels. Styles himself added more fuel to the speculative fire when he tweeted out the image in question and said “Interesting photo…is it not?”  Continue reading “The Odds of AJ Styles vs. Shawn Michaels Actually Happening”

History and Doubt Equals Opportunity at Hell in a Cell

From the midnight ride of Paul Revere to the Red Sox breaking the 86-year Curse of the Bambino, Boston is no stranger to historic moments occurring on its shores. Another such moment, on a different scale, is set to occur on October 30 as Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte will be the first ever women’s match to take place inside of Hell in a Cell, at the TD Garden.

Mick Foley upped the ante when he announced Tuesday morning on Facebook that Sasha Banks and Charlotte will main event Hell in a Cell. Later on, Foley deflated the balloon of excitement when he clarified that the match order for the show is not yet final.

If the match ends up being the main event, it would be the first time that a women’s match has gone on last during a WWE Pay-Per-View.  Continue reading “History and Doubt Equals Opportunity at Hell in a Cell”

Goldberg Returns to Monday Night Raw

After months of speculation, Bill Goldberg returned to WWE, last night, on Monday Night Raw for the first time in over twelve years. He accepted Brock Lesnar’s challenge, with the expectation that Goldberg vs. Lesnar will eventually be made official for Survivor Series on November 20.

The crowd inside the Pepsi Center came unglued as they chanted “Holy sh*t” and “This is Awesome” before Goldberg said a word. The real emotion exhibited by Goldberg anchored the segment as he turned to his wife and son at ringside and said it was their first time seeing him live.  Continue reading “Goldberg Returns to Monday Night Raw”

Favorite Matches #8: Bret Hart vs. Undertaker

27310

The Undertaker and Bret “Hitman” Hart are my two favorite wrestlers. Hart’s never give up attitude, despite not being the biggest, fastest or strongest, along with Taker being the unconventional hero to conquer the biggest threats when no one else could, were ideals that inspired me growing up.

I often flip-flop on who takes the number one spot on my list because it changes almost every day. They helped define a generation of wrestling by being two of the best storytellers to step into the ring. However, can you name their best match with one another? WWE and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Team Up

During my formative years, the only thing that rivaled my love for bear hugs and body slams were four brothers from the sewers of New York City. WWE Hall of Famer Sting and Nickelodeon announced at New York Comic Con that WWE and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have joined forces for an action figure collaboration titled Ninja SuperstarsContinue reading “WWE and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Team Up”
